About the Mandala Portion of the Workshop
The mandala aspect of the workshop is led by Lama Pema Tenzin, a native of East Bhutan, born at the ancient monastery established by Sangye Lingpa. Lama Pema is a stunning tangka artist and a master in Buddhist ritual, chanting, and meditation. His mandala workshop is a beautiful way for any person, especially those with no background at all in art, to establish a space for meditative practice and reflection on one’s own life. As the mandala is a powerful symbol that unites the outer universe to the inner universe likewise one traverses this territory while finding one’s own personal relevance while making a mandala. To have a joyful guide such as Lama Pema provides the grounds for a very memorable experience and offers a tangible creation to take back with you after the retreat.
